Internships

Double Dutch Press has found our interns for Summer 2014!

We are happy to welcome Allison, Laura, Whitney, Michelle, and Mary Ellen to the team!

FALL 2014

We are now accepting applications for internships for Fall 2014 now through August 12th.

We are looking for a few talented and capable folks as Production Interns and PR/Media Interns. Read below to find out more and apply.

PRODUCTION INTERNSHIP

We are seeking 2 to 3 reliable and committed Production Interns who are at least 17 years old with strong attention to detail, great interpersonal skills, and the willingness to learn. Applicants must have a working knowledge of printmaking, but you need not be a master; we will be showing you the ropes around here, so bring your good work ethic and great attitude and you’ll be knocking out prints in a jiffy.

As a Production Intern, you will work with us on day-to-day studio operations. These include (but may not be limited to):

  • positive and plate production/screen burning
  • limited edition printing
  • product packaging
  • inventory and studio maintenance
  • prep for workshops and special events
Interns must be able to commit to 4 – 6 hours per week (some weeks may require 8 hrs) from September through December. Our studio hours are 10 to 6 Tuesday through Saturday, but workshops and special events sometimes take place outside of these hours. We are flexible with this timing and hope that you can be too.
This internship is unpaid and we cannot offer housing. However, DDP is happy to have you participate in any workshops we offer (grow those skill sets!) during your tenure here. We will also offer you after hours print access to work on your own projects on a case by case basis. If you are a student, you will need to work with your institution to determine credits you can receive for this internship – we are happy to keep you on track for that.  (We also write great letters of recommendation for great people!)
To apply, please submit the following three items via email to howdy@doubledutchpress.com:
A letter of interest:  This should outline your art background and educational experience,
what you would like to achieve through this internship, and how or what you hope to be able to contribute. Feel free to let us know about any other skill sets you may bring to DDP (software know-how, graphic design knowledge, break dancing skills, etc.).
Resume
References: Please include name, title, address, email, and phone number of 2 references.
Applicants must submit ALL requested materials to be considered.

PR/MEDIA INTERNSHIP
We are seeking a reliable and committed Media Intern with strong attention to detail, great writing and interpersonal skills, social media savvy, and the willingness to learn. Familiarity with the arts is preferred, but not a requirement.
As a Media Intern, you will work with us on day-to-day media needs of the studio. These include (but may not be limited to):
  • press pitches
  • social media posts and maintenance
  • photography and layout for promotional purposes
  • newsletter and website updates
Intern must be able to commit to 4 – 6 hours per week from September through December. Our studio hours are 10 to 6 Tuesday through Saturday, but we understand that some of this work need not take place onsite.
